Senior UX Design Engineer

2019 - current

SKILLS

AI Product Design • Design Engineering • Product Design • Rapid Prototyping • Design Systems • Agentic UX • Interaction Design • React • TypeScript • Systems Thinking • Product Strategy • Cross-Functional Leadership • Mentoring • Accessibility • Figma

At Workday, I worked across the Talent organization at the intersection of product design, design engineering, systems thinking, and emerging AI experiences. I began by designing Talent Marketplace and Gigs, then expanded into leading design across skills-based products. A major part of my work was helping define how skills could operate as a foundational capability across Talent and adjacent HCM experiences—not simply as a feature within a single product. As Workday moved toward a more AI-first and agentic product model, my role increasingly focused on turning ambiguous concepts into tangible, working experiences that Product, Design, and Engineering could evaluate, test, and align around. I designed and built high-fidelity React prototypes for strategic initiatives including Performance Management, 360 Feedback, Learning, and AI-first Talent experiences. I also explored how AI could support continuous performance management, personalized feedback, goals, career development, coaching, and manager effectiveness. I developed collaborative design-engineering workflows using Figma, React, GitHub, shared component libraries, Workday Canvas, and AI-assisted tools such as Cursor, reducing concept-to-working-prototype cycles from weeks to hours. I also helped scale code-based prototyping and design-engineering practices across multiple design teams through reusable patterns, shared codebases, hands-on collaboration, and mentorship. Throughout this work, I partnered closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and design leadership, and mentored both Workday designers and SFSU design students through the Diversify by Design program.
